Sound familiar?

Most organisations don't lack AI ideas. They lack a clear path from idea to something that runs reliably, safely and profitably in the business.

What you get

A practical engagement focused on decisions and delivery, not slideware. Every recommendation is tied to a business outcome, a cost and a risk you can see.

013 signals

AI opportunity assessment

  • Interviews with business and technology owners
  • A ranked shortlist of use cases by value, feasibility and risk
  • Baseline metrics so results can be proven later
023 signals

Architecture and build plan

  • Workflow, agent or retrieval (RAG) design for each use case
  • Model, platform and vendor choices with trade-offs
  • Integration plan for your data, APIs and existing systems
033 signals

Governance and security

  • An AI register, risk tiers and an acceptable-use policy
  • Permission boundaries and human approval for risky actions
  • Prompt-injection and data-leak controls built in

Pilot to production

  • A governed pilot with evaluation sets and monitoring
  • Scale, fix or stop decisions backed by data
  • Hands-on support for your engineering team

How an engagement works

Most clients start with a short assessment and decide on the next step only when the business case is clear.

  1. 1. Discovery call (30 minutes, free)

We discuss your goals, the processes you'd like to improve and what has been tried. You'll leave with an honest view of whether AI is the right tool.

  2. 2. Opportunity assessment (2–3 weeks)

I map the target workflows, data and systems, score candidate use cases and agree baseline metrics with the people who own them.

  3. 3. Architecture and governed pilot (6–10 weeks)

We design and build the highest-value use case with your team: integrations, permissions, evaluation sets and monitoring from the first day.

  4. 4. Scale with evidence

Results are measured against the baseline. Winning use cases scale; the rest are fixed or stopped, so budget follows proven value.

Results from AI engagements

Client names stay confidential; the results are measured against baselines agreed at the start.

Why work with me

I'm an AI Solutions Architect with more than 18 years of delivering software for businesses, from hands-on engineering to leading global teams of over 120 people. That combination matters for AI: the hard part is rarely the model. It is the data, the integrations, the security model and the change in how people work.

You work directly with me, not a sales team handing over to juniors. I stay vendor-neutral, so recommendations follow your needs rather than a partner programme, and I document every decision so your team can own the result.

Questions leaders ask

What does an AI consultant actually do?

An AI consultant helps you decide where AI creates value, designs how it fits your systems and data, and guides it into production safely. The goal is a working, governed solution that moves a business metric, not a slide deck.

How much does AI consulting cost?

It depends on scope. A short opportunity assessment usually runs two to three weeks at a fixed price; architecture and pilot work is scoped after that, once the business case is clear. The discovery call is free.

Do we need an AI agent or a workflow?

Most processes are better served by a workflow with one or two AI steps, which is cheaper and more predictable. Agents earn their cost where cases vary a lot and need several systems. The assessment answers this for each use case.

Can you work with our existing team and vendors?

Yes. I usually work alongside internal engineers, product owners and existing suppliers, and I document architecture and decisions so your team can run and extend the solution after the engagement.

How do you handle data privacy and security?

Governance is part of the design: data classification, approved tools, permission boundaries, human approval for risky actions, logging, and protection against prompt injection and data leaks.

Do you work with companies outside the US?

Yes. I deliver remotely for clients in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, with working hours that overlap your team's.
